Cinnabon Cinnamon Rolls
BEST CINNAMON ROLLS EVER!!!!!
Makes 12 cinnamon rolls
Ingredients
Dough
- 1 package yeast
- 1 cup milk
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/3 cup butter unsalted (or salted and just don't add salt)
- 1 tsp salt
- 2 eggs
- 4 cups all-purpose flour
Filling
- 3/4 cup brown sugar
- 2.25 Tbsp cinnamon
- 1/3 cup butter unsalted (salted is fine too
Cream Cheese Frosting
- 6 tbsp butter
- 1.5 cups powdered sugar
- 1/4 cup cream cheese
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
Icing Frosting
- 2 cups powdered sugar
- 2 Tbsp butter melted
- 2 tsp vanilla
- 4 Tbsp milk
Directions
- Heat the milk to about 110 degrees.
- Add the yeast and a tsp of sugar.
- Let it sit for about 5 minutes.
- In a stand mixer add the sugar, butter, salt, eggs, and flour. Mix until well incorporated
- Pour the milk and yeast over the flour and mix well with a dough hook. The dough should come off clean from the side of the bowl.
- Place the dough in an oiled bowl, cover, and let rise for 1 hour.
- Combine the brown sugar and cinnamon in a bowl.
- Grease a 9x13 pan or 2 9" cake pans with cooking spray or butter
- Place the dough on a lightly floured surface and roll into a 16x12 inch rectangle. It should be about 1/4 inch thick.
- Spread the butter over the dough.
- Sprinkle with the sugar/cinnamon mix and lightly press it into the butter.
- Roll the dough tightly along the long edge.
- Cut into 12 slices and place them in the baking pan.
- Cover and let them rise for 30 minutes
- Bake at 350 (325 for dark pans) for about 20 minutes or until slightly brown.
- Mix all the frosting ingredients together and blend well.
Notes:
- These freeze super well. If you want to freeze them as individual rolls freeze them on a pan first without them touching for a couple of hours. Then place them in a freezer bag or container. Reheat them in the microwave for about 45 seconds for a single roll or until heated through.
- To freeze them before baking complete steps 1-13. Wrap the pan well with plastic wrap. The night before you want to bake the rolls thaw them in the fridge overnight. Continue the rest of the steps.
- To prepare the night before complete steps 1-13. Cover the pan and place them in the fridge. The next morning continue the rest of the steps.
